Reseña del libro "Birdica (en Inglés)"

On an island of only birds, the big and flightless Ostrees rule. The Ostrees were always flightless because their wings were to small to lift their large bodies off the ground. When they took over the island, they did not want any birds to fly. So, they created a ceremony called "The Clipping" which took place at the end of each summer. During the ceremony, the Ostrees removed the flight feathers from all birds born in the spring. You see, without flight feathers birds cannot fly. It was this way for generations. The birds carried on day-to-day. Over time, they simply forgot about flying....until now. To his parents' surprise, a special bird named Birdica was born on a snowy day. His early arrival made him different. For safe keeping, his parents kept him out of sight until the other baby birds were born. In the spring, they introduced him to the flock. Spring turned to summer and with the old owl's wisdom, Birdica discovered that he could fly. At that moment, his life changed and sent him on a wild journey full of surprises and adventure.Wildly imaginative and full of inspiration, Birdica delivers a compelling message about inner strength and the courage inside us all to believe in the unknown. Bursting with excitement, Birdica will have you and you child cheering for him to save the day.Poppit is a pen name for Dr. Paul Gallagher who is a graduate from Seton Hall University with a doctorate in Family Psychology. Dr. Gallagher has worked for over two decades with children as a Certified School Psychologist and a Student Assistance Counselor. She quotes, "Laugh like a child everyday or you will age very fast."
