Many people think that preachers enjoy special protection from God that insulates them from hardships, but Wayne Mathis knows better.

In this book, he draws on his fifty-eight years of experience preaching God's word to reveal some special difficulties a church leader faces, including needing to be available at any hour of the day or night.

A preacher must always put the needs of others before his own. He is held to a higher standard and criticized when he lets someone down. His family is watched closely. Any mistake is magnified.

Still, these mean nothing considering the joy he finds in serving the Lord.

Well Satisfied with Life reveals the obstacles the author faced as a preacher, which included making friends. Being flexible when disagreements arose or plans did not work out served him well - as did standing firm for the truth even when it was unpopular.

The author also reflects on living life with his soulmate, Doris, who has stood by his side for sixty-five years and counting. Together, they struggled, but they always cherished having the Lord and each other - and praying always brought answers.
