Reseña del libro "Welcome to Hallockville A Coloring Tour from a Docent's perspective: A Coloring Book for enthusiasts of all ages! (en Inglés)"

Go back in time with a docent tour through the beautiful imagery of the Hallockville Museum Farm on Historic Long Island. "Welcome to HALLOCKVILLE A Coloring Tour from a Docent's perspective" celebrates over 250 years of the existence of an American Homestead in New York, the Hallock Homestead Timeline, and Hallock Genealogy. Highlighted are some of the most incredible of the Long Island Historic Homes. This book includes pertinent historical and genealogical documentation from the 1765 Hallock Home a late Victorian Era Style House. Along with the Hallockville Homestead Barn, one of the oldest barns on Eastern Long Island, the Hudson-Sydlowski house, the 1931 Depression House a Farmhouse belonging to the Cichanowicz family, who were part of the Polish Immigration in America wave, the Naugles Barn, the Trubisz Family Buildings, the c.1876 Combs Decoy Shop, Vintage Trucks, Homestead Animals, Farm Tools and Equipment, etc. The book's creator, C.A. Cali, enjoyed sharing stories of these New York historic homes with visitors of the Hallockville Homestead while giving tours of the Hallock Home, where many generations of the Hallock family lived. An American Homestead from 1765, passed down through the generations to the last Hallock family occupant in 1979; though parts of the house are known to have been in existence since the 1600s. Stories from the days of the first Puritans in America, on Long Island, to British Soldiers, German Submarines landing on our shores and brutal storms like The Great Blizzard of 1888 all taking their toll. This book presents a view of English Immigration to America, for those first settlers and their descendants during our country's early days. C.A. Cali was equally intrigued with the 1930's Home, and giving tours of where Polish Immigrants, such as the Cichanowicz family, lived and prospered, during extreme difficulties in America. From the Stock Market Crash in 1929, signaling a change of family life in The Great Depression, including the potential for Rum Running, to the "Long Island Express" The Great Hurricane of 1938 that changed Long Island forever. The c.1931 home is relatable for many visitors. Invoking fond memories of their own parents, grandparents or great-grandparents' home. This Coffee Table / Coloring Book is 8.5" x 11" with 46 images inside a total of 104 internal pages and is laid out in the same procession as a tour.
