Edgar P. Jacobs (Bruselas, 30 de marzo de 1904 – Lasne, 20 de febrero de 1987) fue un destacado historietista belga, reconocido por su contribución al cómic europeo. Inicialmente, se dedicó al canto lírico, pero la Segunda Guerra Mundial interrumpió su carrera musical, llevándolo a enfocarse en la ilustración y la narrativa gráfica. Colaboró estrechamente con Hergé en las aventuras de Tintín, aportando su talento en álbumes como "El tesoro de Rackham el Rojo" y "Las siete bolas de cristal".

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra la serie "Blake y Mortimer", iniciada con "El secreto del Espadón" (1947), una narrativa de ciencia ficción y aventuras. Otros títulos relevantes de la serie incluyen "La marca amarilla" (1953) y "El enigma de la Atlántida" (1955). Su obra "El rayo U" (1943) es otra pieza significativa en el género de ciencia ficción. En 1971, recibió el Premio San Miguel en la categoría Gran Premio, reconociendo su impacto en la historieta belga.
