The young man begins to change as he confronts his own issues and develops hope for his future, and the old man sustains and supports him through it. This is a story about human potential as we all come to terms with reconciling to ourselves and making good choices in life that benefits our well being. But to do this we need to first be aware of what it is that actually hinders us from moving forward.
