The Holy Grail and its quest is a legend that has had a powerful impact on our civilization and culture. Marie-Louise von Franz (1915-1998) fue una psicóloga y erudita suiza, reconocida por sus interpretaciones psicológicas de cuentos de hadas y manuscritos alquímicos. Colaboró estrechamente con Carl Gustav Jung desde 1934 hasta la muerte de este en 1961, especialmente en estudios relacionados con la alquimia. Obtuvo su doctorado en filología en la Universidad de Zúrich y posteriormente se desempeñó como analista y docente en el Instituto C. G. Jung de la misma ciudad.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran "La interpretación de los cuentos de hadas" (1970), "Alquimia: una introducción al simbolismo y la psicología" (1980) y "El problema del puer aeternus" (1981). Además, coescribió "La leyenda del Grial" (1960) junto a Emma Jung. Estas publicaciones, en el ámbito de la psicología analítica, exploran temas como los arquetipos, la alquimia y la mitología.
