Reseña del libro "THE G.I. (en Inglés)"

A Black American serviceman, an English farm and the testimony that forces two nations to face what they buried in 1947. In 1997, Margaret Turner testifies at the Old Bailey about the summer of 1947, when Black American serviceman Isaiah James Bennett arrived in Haversham, Wiltshire, during a classified U.S. military operation. Rejected by his assigned hosts because of his race, Isaiah is taken in by Margaret and her younger sister Rose at Turner Farm. As Isaiah becomes part of their household, he faces racism from villagers and fellow soldiers while forming a forbidden bond with Margaret, whose husband Thomas is missing in action. When Thomas returns alive, bitter and violent, jealousy and prejudice ignite a conspiracy that leaves Rose dead and Isaiah accused of crimes he did not commit. Fifty years later, Margaret's testimony exposes the truth buried by fear, racism and military authority. But justice comes too late: Isaiah's life has already been stolen, and Margaret is left with love, regret and the weight of history.
