Christopher is 15 and lives in Swindon with his father. He has Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism. He is obsessed with maths, science and Sherlock Holmes but finds it hard to understand other people. When he discovers a dead dog on a neighbour's lawn he decides to solve the mystery and write a detective thriller about it. As in all good detective stories, however, the more he unearths, the deeper the mystery gets - for both Christopher and the rest of his family.

Mark Haddon (Northampton, Reino Unido, 28 de septiembre de 1962) es un escritor y guionista británico, célebre por su novela El curioso incidente del perro a medianoche, que explora la mente de un adolescente con autismo. Haddon ha escrito también Un pequeño inconveniente y El porqué de las cosas. Su obra ha sido galardonada con premios como el Whitbread Book of the Year y el Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. Además de novelas, Haddon ha trabajado en literatura infantil y guiones para televisión, destacando por su sensibilidad y originalidad para tratar temas complejos desde una perspectiva única.
