CJ Hauser, cuyo nombre completo es Christina Joyce Hauser, es una escritora y profesora estadounidense. Se identifica como una persona escritora de género queer y trabaja principalmente en los géneros de ficción, ensayo y memorias. Actualmente enseña escritura creativa en la Universidad Colgate, donde trabaja desde 2016.

Hauser obtuvo una maestría en Bellas Artes (MFA) en Brooklyn College y un doctorado (PhD) en la Universidad Estatal de Florida. Como novelista, publicó The From-Aways en 2014 y Family of Origin en 2019. Sus textos también han aparecido en importantes publicaciones como The Paris Review, The Guardian, The New York Times, Vogue UK, Esquire y The Kenyon Review.

En 2019 alcanzó una gran notoriedad gracias a su ensayo “The Crane Wife”, publicado en The Paris Review. El texto narraba su decisión de cancelar su boda y posteriormente participar en una expedición científica en Texas para estudiar grullas trompeteras.
