Rainer Zitelmann es doctor en Historia y Sociología y autor de veintiún libros. Después de trabajar como historiador en la Universidad Libre de Berlín, fue jefe de sección en el periódico Die Welt. En el año 2000 fundó su propia compañía, que posteriormente vendió en 2016. En la actualidad vive en Berlín, donde trabaja como inversor y publicista.
