Sometimes humorous, sometimes melancholy, his stories are a memoir of Fennimore of the mid-twentieth century. One of Tom's friends recently wrote, "Your book is a verbal Norman Rockwell. A life we once lived, now a hamlet of memory; when lightning bugs and grasshoppers were caught in jars and the night time was an evening sound of crickets."
