Reseña del libro "Superhero Kids (en Inglés)"

You are already old enough. That's the thing nobody tells you, and it's the thing the kids in this book figured out on their own. One gentled a wild mustang at twelve. One raised $370,000 for rare disease research, a batch of cookies at a time. One built an app so deaf people would know when an alarm was going off. Others invented medical tests, ran recycling drives, worked for shelter animals, and started nonprofits before they were old enough to drive. They're not prodigies. They're kids with homework and chores and bad days, who saw a problem close enough to touch and decided it was theirs to work on. Superhero Kids collects nineteen true stories about twenty-one young people, each told with the part that usually gets left out: what they noticed first, what they tried, what went wrong, and what happened next. Black-and-white illustrations by Liberian artist Leslie Lumeh, drawn from the kids themselves, accompany each story. A closing questionnaire helps readers find the project only they can start. Author Micaela Myers began volunteering at a therapeutic riding facility at thirteen, the seed of a lifelong commitment to service and of this book. Written for classroom and library collections supporting service learning, character education, and youth civic engagement.
