State of the Art (en Inglés) - Alex Gomez

An ordinary life in an extraordinary decade.

In 2026, Alex and his best friend Jonathan start a cleaning and handyman business out of one beat-up truck in Vacaville, California. Carpets, tile, junk hauls, pressure washing. Honest work, done by hand, the way Alex’s father taught him.

Then the world starts to change faster than anyone planned for.

As artificial intelligence and robotics sweep through the economy, the little company called State of the Art grows into something neither man imagined, and Alex finds himself in rooms where decisions about automation decide whether other people’s hands still get the chance to earn a living. At home, his wife Beth and their four kids are growing up inside the same upheaval, each of them searching for a place to stand while the ground keeps moving.

Spanning twenty years, from two guys and a truck to a nationwide company and beyond, State of the Art is a warm, grounded family saga about friendship, work, dignity, and what one ordinary man can build for the people around him when the future arrives all at once.
