Reseña del libro "Murder Is A Raw Deal: A Lolita Deal Mystery (en Inglés)"

Former homicide detective Lolita Deal is reluctantly thrown into a murder investigation after she finds her former partner Jimmie Baker dead in a snow-covered alley. Lolita would rather spend time with Sally, her dog sitting in the tavern she owns drinking bourbon and feeling sorry for messing up her life. But Lieutenant Maxwell Tanner, Lolita's old boss whom she enjoyed a one night stand with while on a stakeout, has other plans for her. Tanner suspects Lolita of murdering Jimmie Baker. Jimmie Baker was a dirty cop. It was his underhanded conduct that caused he and Lolita to be ousted from the police force. So why not rub out the guy who lost you your job? But Lolita claims innocence. She tells Tanner that she saw a dark Ford speeding away from where she discovered Baker's body. Lieutenant Tanner gives Lolita 48 hours to find the man driving the dark Ford and prove her innocence. Lolita's investigation re-opens a cold case of a 20-year-old teenage girl's disappearance and assumed death. Complicit in the cold case is a retired senator, his son, Lolita's former partner Jimmie Baker and others in law enforcement. An unlikely villain cuts a path of revenge executing everyone involved. But who is the killer? And why has Lolita been targeted in the list of victims? The clock is ticking.Plagued by ghosts from her past, will Lolita Deal come to grips with the foul balls of her life? And will she solve the deadliest crime drama of her career? It all boils down to Murder Is A Raw Deal.
