Collins taught at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for thirty-one years and cofounded the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival. He has written two books about the theater in the Arizona Territory: Stage-Struck Settlers in the Sun-Kissed Land and Arizona on Stage.
