I've never considered myself a Poet. I'm just a fiction and non-fiction Writer who happened to write a lot of strange poems here and there throughout his life. Four lefts on Vacant Street in the Middle of Nowhere is a collection of those odd poems I've written through the years. Since I was very young I enjoyed writing and telling stories. I was also encouraged by friends and family to pursue writing as a career in the future. It wasn't until I was 15 years old when I realized the power of my talents. I used to hang out with a popular metal band called System of a down after every show I saw of theirs. Once I wrote a poem for the lead singer Serge Tankian. After that I didn't see them again but I did hear their new song on the radio. It was called Chop Suey. I was shocked and upset to hear one of the lines of the poem I wrote Serge in this song. I originally wrote "I cry as angels deserve to die". In the song he changed the line to "Why I cry when angels deserve to die". Eventually I stopped being angry about it and realized that if a popular metal band was impressed enough to steal a line of poetry from a 15 year old teen and use it in their song, then I must be doing something right. I still have the original copy of that poem in my files but I didn't include it in the book because I feel like it's been tainted by that incident. Perhaps one day I'll publish it in a magazine or include it in another book of poetry. Until then, I'm currently working on a sci-fi/fantasy saga and a fiction of my home city New York based on true events. They should be published soon. For now I'm sharing my weird poems with the world. II hope you enjoy them.
