This book examines higher education trends in the U.S. and in China over the last 50 years and demonstrates through research and essay areas where the two cultures can meet and flourish. Vaccaro is a retired university president and sociologist with a wealth of experience in higher education. He is a keen observer of how trends in higher education can transcend the passing of time and his many visits to China and teaching there lend credence to his essays. Mi Zhou's well-researched pieces on higher education in China and its affect on the culture as well as suggestions to improve it by looking at Western models are also prescient.
