Racing flood water swells the river Aire. The two largest armies ever to march in England have picked the landscape bare. With a ruined arm, Albin can no longer shoot game. Albin manages to find three brothers-in-arms: an injured cousin, his rival-the village bully, and a Yorkist. This odd foursome must navigate their way home through a cold English spring-if they can survive that long. This captivating tale of brotherhood, bravery, and perseverance is heavily based on the actual Battle of Towton. Well-researched and well-written, it is among author Lila Rhodes' best work.
