Moral dilemmas ensue when they must choose to live with the truth or face horrible consequences.Auggie and the Fat Man is an adaptation of the novel, The Five-Cent Gang. It is abbreviated in content and is intended for young adult readers. The Five-Cent Gang is intended for older students and adults and should be read in its entirety. The full-length novel not only gives a more detailed account of Auggie's story, but continues with the boys lives as they journey into adulthood . . . and things happen.
