Flora is in the right business. She's the owner of Flora's Florals a florist boutique in a suburb of Chicago and specializes in wedding and special event flowers. Amongst the upper middle class customers she's got weddings year round. Flora has always had a green thumb and she's educated to boot. She has a degree in botany and plays with splicing flower strains together in her free time. But she loves nothing more than being alone in her workroom mixing together the perfect shades of pink and green to create artistic arrangements for her discerning brides. But lately Flora has been feeling a bit lonely. She'd always assumed that by the end of her twenties she'd have a man, maybe even be married herself. However, the only men florists seem to meet are gay or married, neither of which are going to want to walk her down the aisle. When a tv station calls and offers her the opportunity to join the cast of a new reality tv show showcasing weddings Flora jumps at the chance. Perhaps this will be a way to get her head out of the florists shop and into a hot producer... Brett Wilson is a wedding planner. And no, he's not gay. Brett didn't mean to fall into weddings. He started out as a PR guy, who got roped into event planning, and ended up excelling at weddings. Like mentioned by Oprah, excel at weddings. The trick was really seeing what all of the major players wanted out of the day and making it happen. Too often his brides were in fights with their mothers or the groom wasn't interested because all of his wishes were cast aside and the mothers of the groom just wanted one piece to really call their own. Brett was really good at managing people. He saw what they wanted and figured out how to give it to them...without upsetting anyone else. He was the ghandi of weddings. With good taste. But he's tired of living in LA. The people are shallow. When Brett got the offer for the tv show he asked that they move it to Chicago. Surely there was a girl from the windy city who actually ate deep dish pizza. She had to exist right? Well, if she didn't live in Chicago Brett could just move the show the next season. Somewhere across the country he'd find her...
