As a professional in the fields of tertiary and quaternary education-collectively referred to below as "adult education"-one is well aware of the difference between "seeking advice" and "giving advice." Therefore, educational contexts should emerge in counseling situations that are based on the principle of "understanding rather than lecturing." Counseling encompasses numerous and varied situations and problem areas. The guiding principle is to structure the interpersonal relationship in such a way that the individual's personal problem is addressed at its source. This prevents the transfer of educational responsibility. Otherwise, a separation would arise between the origin of the problem and its resolution. Educational practice is inconceivable without counseling and assistance in guiding students toward self-directed action. Given the teacher's counseling role, the relevant literature reveals an inadequate body of research. The author therefore faces the challenge of contributing to this field in the form of a study.The goal is to develop a foundational body of knowledge with theoretical and practical references to counseling, based on personal principles.
