Reseña del libro "Ancient Voices Call Again: "Peace of Mind" (en Inglés)"

The ancient philosophers of Greece and Rome knew that life is a great search for the highest expression of Self. They knew that nothing in all the fright and chaos of this world is more important than peace of mind. They knew that the cultivation of virtues and the denial of vices is indispensable to peace. Expressing Stoic and Epicurean traditions, Socrates, Plato, Epictetus, Plutarch, Epicurus, Seneca, Cicero, Marcus Aurelius and others, asked-What kind of person would you be as you walk the earth for a short while? What virtues would you welcome, what vices would you lay aside, what light would you be to others and yourself? What would you teach? What is beauty in this world, for loving beauty is a sign of inner peace? What are the marks of wisdom in true character?Every generation repeats the journey of the ancient folk and masters, but so often, perhaps even now, without their counsel. Sincere, intimate, touching, humorous, stirring, and beautifully crafted are the utterances. A single one can transform your life. This book would have appealed to my dear mother who liked a single thought, with no more than three sentences, on a single page.I have always loved eloquence with brevity, and here it is in spades. There is a reassurance in these pages, a kind of safety, that always accompanies peace of mind.
