This book offers a philosophical reflection on the condition of sub-Saharan African women, highlighting the urgent need to extricate them from the minority status in which they have been confined by history, patriarchal systems, slavery and colonialism. For too long enslaved, stigmatized and confined to secondary roles, it is now called upon to reclaim its dignity and its future. Christian Dior MOULOUNGUI advocates the liberation of African women through reason, education and intellectual autonomy. It is no longer a question of African women reducing themselves to the traditional logic of the home or waiting for the providential man, but rather of taking the initiative to cultivate and train themselves, and to position themselves as major players in the continent's development. Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir, who denounced the fact that girls' education was geared towards marriage to the detriment of their personal development, the book calls for a new awareness: only an educated, dynamic woman who is aware of global issues can make a full contribution to Africa's future. This is the quest for meaning of the educated and free African woman.
