Aimlessly, Wayne continued to pursue success. First in the restaurant industry becoming one of the first regional managers of a Shoney's restaurant chain. And then moving into retail management where he ran one the most profitable carpet stores in the tri-state region, all before the age of 30. He continued to climb. Owning various businesses, starting new professions, and becoming a true entrepreneur. But without his father, Wayne's compass of success could find no destination. In A Biblical View of Prosperity from a Coal Miner's Son Wayne discovered the father he never knew - a man who, with only a fifth-grade education, used his wits and moxie to pull himself up from a depression era "holler" to leasing and running his own coal mine. Wayne uncovered his father's relationship with Christ and rebuilt his own faith in the process.
