In his mourning, he finds that he is unable to be available to his young grandson, undoubtedly, it does not help that his son's son is his splitting image. While the two begin to fulfill new roles in one another's lives, a tenderly planted yellow primrose offers them hope and guidance on how to live a deeply felt life that will ultimately remain subtle and sweet, even as they endure tragedy.
