-ABOUT THE BOOK: Take to the desert, my friends, and look.
I have sought many methods in my longing to know the Lord more intimately. As I continued to grow, I knew there was more I wanted than what my traditional search methods were providing. Prayerfully I would ask for God to draw me close to Him so that I may grow and mature in my faith and become all that He desires of me. That seeking would take me to a lonely place, much like a desert-a place where worldly influences and distractions were void. It would be humbling, recognizing who He truly is and realizing who I was. His holiness would strip the sandals off my feet (figuratively, of course), and I would be in awe of His presence.
The Desert Look brings you alone to the revealing of our God, and it is an amazing look that defies worldly rationalizations and summations. It’s a humbling experience and one that, in my mind, cannot happen without the desert experience. This book will hopefully lead you beyond the pages to be alone with God, letting Him reveal that eternal fire that will keep His light burning in your heart, drawing you closer and closer to Him in your faith journey.

-ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jerry Woodward’s life is a journey of faith, service, and remarkable transformation. From his diverse religious upbringing across Protestant and Catholic traditions to his service in the U.S. Army in Korea and later in the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg, Jerry’s path was guided by his relationship with Jesus Christ. After earning a degree in business finance and marketing from Florida International University, Jerry embarked on a forty-five-year global business career, through which he lived out his faith with co-workers and clients. During this time, he earned a master’s degree in Christian studies (cum laude) from Union University and dedicated over twenty-five years to prison ministries. Now retired, Jerry focuses on writing and his family. He lives near Memphis, TN, with his wife of over forty years and is blessed with three children and three grandchildren.
