He has fallen deep into hypocrisy causing many around him to fall from grace and agree with many of his sinful ways. He wants to divorce Patsy and preserve his position in the church, keep his retirement in tack, but he must also convince the church that what he is doing is right since you must have Biblical reason to divorce.
