When she asked her mother why she had never published the book, her response was that she was afraid it would not be embraced by the public. Her mother agreed to give Cynthia a copy of the book, but the original was once again hidden away until after Virginia's death in 2009. At that time, her daughter Cynthia once again, discovered the book and made it her mission to have it published so her mother's dream could be fulfilled and the world could enjoy the story of two horse-crazy girls who share life's adventures together.
