"I'll Die for You" is a novel seen through the eyes of a young lad, who experienced two compelling forces.... war and love. They were so closely related that they could not be differentiated. Just as war ravages the land, love plagues as deeply. Neither force cares about class distinction. It affects one and all, both the guilty and the innocent. I'll "Die for You" is set in the Carolinas during the Civil War Era. The story takes you deep into the South and gives you a glimpse of how things may have been, a place where slavery existed with its cruelties and oppression, a place where the rich and poor are at odds because of prejudices. The reader gets a glimpse of the one sandwiched in between the two classes. The author has weaved aspects found in Romeo and Juliet, Gone with the Wind, and Uncle Tom's Cabin into a wonderful novel that can be enjoyed by all. The book was written with the intent of making a "good ole little story" for everyone to sit back and enjoy another slice of the American way of life.
