Jorge Mario Bergoglio, conocido mundialmente como el Papa Francisco, fue un prolífico autor en los géneros de espiritualidad, teología y doctrina social. Antes de su elección como pontífice en 2013, escribió obras como Meditaciones para religiosos (1982) y Sobre la acusación de sí mismo (2005). Durante su papado, publicó textos fundamentales como las encíclicas Lumen fidei (2013), Laudato si’ (2015) y Fratelli tutti (2020), así como la exhortación apostólica Evangelii gaudium (2013). En 2024, presentó su autobiografía Esperanza, considerada la primera escrita por un Papa en ejercicio.

Su obra más reciente, La esperanza no defrauda nunca (2025), refleja su continuo compromiso con los temas sociales y espirituales. A lo largo de su vida, Bergoglio escribió más de 30 libros, consolidándose como una de las voces más influyentes de la Iglesia contemporánea.
