Ironically, communist regimes lasted less in time than the Pinochet and the junta government in Chile.The author, in his abundant and sustained writings for half a century in the prominent and traditional newspaper El Mercurio of Santiago, and in the last decade in blogdehermogenes.blogspot.com and his numerous books, has emphasized something that the mainstream media in his country and in the world have neglected: the extra cost imposed to Chile by its defense against the generalized, long, and violent terrorist armed aggression that was financed and promoted by countries such as Cuba, the USSR, and East Germany.This book also emphasizes the surprising fact that the Chilean revolution, which restored both the country's democracy and its economy, had to bear the cost of the Western countries taking sides with its enemies, imposing an extra burden on its defense against totalitarianism.
