Autor de numerosos libros, fundador y director del Centro de Salud Santa Hildegarda en Allensbach, Alemania, único centro de salud de su tipo en el mundo. Después de estudiar Ciencias Naturales (Productos Naturales y Química de los Alimentos) y doctorarse en la Universidad Técnica de Berlín, realizó otros estudios de postgrado en la Universidad de Yale, EE.UU.. Trabajó durante diez años como químico industrial en la empresa farmacéutica E. Merck en Darmstadt (Alemania) en el campo de ensayos clínicos, investigación farmacéutica y síntesis de productos naturales. En los años 70, se licenció en Medicina Naturista y en 1980 recibió la capacitación oficial para ejercer como Médico Naturópata (Heilpratiker).
