This collection of poems by Mary Baker Eddy covers most of her life, from girlhood to her final year on earth. It is a comprehensive anthology of verse written by her during times of both joy and sorrow, the reading of which will enable you to peer inside the mind and heart of one of the most brilliant and controversial women of all time. To feel what she felt during trying times, the Civil War, political upheaval, sickness, mourning of lost loved ones, and also great joy and expectation for the future, gives the reader a more complete view of the woman who discovered, founded, and led the most important American religious movement of the nineteenth century, Christian Science. Many books and memoirs have been written about her, but perhaps her own words reveal the real Mrs. Eddy. Referring to her most important book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, she wrote, "...my book is not all you know of me." (Miscellany 133:26-27) Her poems are both heart-wrenching and uplifting, for they tell her story from her perspective, as no one else can.
