Hartmut Rosa (Lörrach, 1965) es filósofo y sociólogo, considerado uno de los representantes de la nueva teoría crítica. Su área de investigación se basa en la sociología del tiempo y la formación de las identidades. Es catedrático en el Instituto de Sociología de la Universidad Friedrich-Schiller de Jena y director del Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies de la Universidad de Erfurt. Ha colaborado con la New School for Social Research de Nueva York y las universidades alemanas de Augsburg, Duisburg-Essen y Manheim, entre otras. Ha recibido numerosos premios por su trabajo, más recientemente el Premio de Ensayo Tractatus 2016 y el Premio Erich Fromm 2018.
