How Can We Build Solid, Healthy Relationships? "Communicating Like Christ" contains the biblical blueprints for divinely inspired interaction as we all journey through life. Here, we can glean from Jesus' own conversational skills and the compas-sionate heart behind them, using His methods revealed in this book. These skills are founded on the attitude of love and respect, demonstrated by God the Father calling publicly from heaven to His Son on earth when He said, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased." (Matt 3:17) It takes the best architects, laborers, materials, and methods to create the highest-quality buildings. The same applies to building solid, healthy, relationships. We create them through effective communication-- truly understanding and being understood, edifying others and being receptive to how they speak into our lives. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." (Jn. 8:12) Our spiritual lighthouse, He guides and protects us in life and relationships. Jesus, God incarnate, who created the universe, also created communi-cation the way it was meant to be. In this way, we can obey His two greatest commandments to love Him and love others. "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." Eph 4:15 "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear." Eph 4:29
