James T. Tynion IV (nacido el 14 de diciembre de 1987) es un destacado guionista de cómics estadounidense, reconocido principalmente por su exitosa trayectoria en DC Comics y en el género de terror. Estudiante de escritura creativa en el Sarah Lawrence College, inició su carrera bajo la mentoría de Scott Snyder, colaborando en la línea Vertigo y debutando en 2012 coescribiendo historias de respaldo en Batman.

Tynion se consolidó como una voz clave en la Familia Batman, destacando en Batman Eternal y su aclamada etapa en Detective Comics durante la iniciativa Rebirth (2016-2020). Su trabajo en la franquicia incluyó crossovers exitosos como Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
