Arthur C. Clarke (1917-2008) fue un escritor, científico inglés y miembro de la Orden del Imperio Británico. Fue presidente de la Sociedad Interplanetaria Británica, miembro de la Academia Astronáutica, de la Real Sociedad Astronómica, entre otras organizaciones científicas.

En su faceta de escritor, publicó un gran número de libros que han sido traducidos a más de treinta idiomas. En 1961 recibió el Premio Kalinga, otorgado por la Unesco, en reconocimiento a su labor como divulgador científico al gran público. Entre su obra cabe destacar la serie «Odisea espacial» -formada por 2001: Una odisea espacial (1968), 2010: Odisea dos (1982), 2061: Odisea tres (1987), 3001: Odisea final (1996)-, Rendez-vous with Rama (1972; Premio Nebula, 1973; Premio Hugo, 1974) y Cánticos de la lejana tierra (1986).

Neil Gaiman (Portchester, Inglaterra, 1960) es uno de los escritores más influyentes y versátiles de la literatura contemporánea, reconocido por transformar el género fantástico con su imaginación única y su aproximación fresca a la narrativa. Desde muy joven, Gaiman mostró una pasión intensa por la lectura, devorando desde los clásicos de Tolkien y C.S. Lewis hasta los cómics, lo que marcó su camino creativo.

Gaiman inició su carrera como periodista y fue influenciado decisivamente por su encuentro con el guionista Alan Moore, lo que le llevó a escribir cómics junto al dibujante Dave McKean, con quien creó la novela gráfica Casos violentos. Posteriormente, fue contratado por DC Comics para reimaginar a Sandman, transformando un personaje secundario en una obra maestra del cómic adulto. También ha colaborado con Terry Pratchett en la novela Buenos presagios (1990) y ha participado como guionista en series como Doctor Who.
