Life in the 1960's colored by racism and hatred as the country was in turmoil serves as the backdrop to my memoir. My experiences as one of only a few "whites" in city schools amid the terrific unrest and anger toward the caucasion race might surprise many. I lost hope of an education in the fourth grade with the unfathomable battlefield of life. My story is about perseverance.
