Reseña del libro

this book aims to explore a range of current, novel or controversial issues in the field of sexual offender treatment. contributors will be encouraged to be speculative or provocative, rather than sticking to the received wisdom of the average treatment manual or text, provided that contributions are based on evidence. chapter authors will be selected for their reputations as expert in their area, providing a book that will be sought after by a range of professionals and scholars. the chapters are arranged in three parts, with a fourth, conclusions section at the end, that attempts to draw conclusions and future directions from the previous contributions. part one considers background and general issues, including risk prediction and management, diagnostic problems, sexually violent predators, psychopathy and internet use. part two has a focus on assessment issues, including sexual interests, attachments, schemas and shame and guilt. part three looks at treatment issues, including therapist features, behavioral procedures, psychopharmacology, relapse prevention, and outcomes.
