Reseña del libro

Lexical functional grammar refers to a grammatical framework in theoretical linguistics which is constraint-based. It presents syntactic structures on two different levels. The first level is a phrase structure grammar which represents constituency and word order. The second is the representation of grammatical functions such as subject and object. In this discipline, the structure of language is considered to be made up of multiple dimensions. Every dimension is defined as a distinct structure having its own concepts, form and rules. The primary goal of this discipline is the creation of a model of grammar which has a depth which attracts linguistics as well as a formal rigidity for the benefit of computational linguists. This book provides significant information of this discipline to help develop a good understanding of lexical-functional grammar and related fields. It will serve as a valuable source of reference for graduate and post graduate students. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge.
