Brilliant, provocative, and vigorous, this novel deal with a young Bosnian who has fled from his homeland, ravaged by war, and now lives in the United States. As he struggles to reconcile his past with his present, he cannot let go of the guilt he feels for fleeing without his family. As a way to save the internal abyss, he is given the task to explore through means of the written word.
