Uncle Tom's cabin is an extraordinary novel about slavery in the US. Tom is a benevolent black, but Shelby, Tom's owner, is forced to sell him to a dealer named Haley. Slaves by nature, but free of spirit, some accept their destiny and others rebel against the injustice of slavery.
