What is permissible to be said? What is not permissible to be expressed (anymore) and why? Every possible answer invariably reflects political convictions, persecution and enforcement interests, sometimes also victim characteristics. General human rights or principles from Art. 5 GG are not sufficient for a useful solution. Therefore, concrete decisions and historical developments are presented, ranging from American problems of Hate Speech to German ones with the "Auschwitz lie". Criminal facts are compared with the jurisprudence on the right of personality and the common viewpoints on constitutional balancing. Examples ranging from insult, coercion and deception to state protection serve as illustrations.
