Reseña del libro

Thirteen papers, from a symposium held in Zurich in 2001, discuss evidence for Alemannian settlements in northern Germany and Scandinavia between 400 and 800. Written from a range of perspectives, the papers discuss linguistic evidence, focusing on similarities or otherwise between Upper German and Nordic, the names of people, the archaeological evidence, iconographic evidence from stone carvings and metalwork and, most especially, the runic evidence. Two of these academic papers are in English, the rest are in German.
