Born in 1925, into a dysfunctional family in New York State, June comes of age during the difficult days of World War II. Desperate to find fulfillment and meaning in her life, she leaves home at an early age. She acquires secretarial training which enables her to rise to a high position in the oil industry. However, she feels that her life is empty, so she begins a spiritual journey which lasts for decades and leads to a number of dead ends. As she continues her quest, she meets the love of her life as a result of an unexpected tragedy, and finds that he also is seeking for truth.
